DIY Pom Pom Garland

This project took me two weeks to finish! Two weeks! As a person who likes to finish everything, I start immediately, that two week time-lapse was not my friend. But, I don't want that to scare you off because the project really wasn't that hard. So, here we are, two weeks later, with a pom pom garland and it looks perfect in Piper's playroom. For this project, I used a pom pom maker that I found at Walmart. There were 4 sizes to choose from, I used the second largest size (pictured below).

  1. To get started, wrap the wool around the pom pom maker. First, on one side, then the other before securing the maker shut.

2. Next, cut the wool all the way around, then use a separate piece of wool to tie the individual pieces together.

3. The last step, open the clasps on the pom pom maker and release your pom pom!I Trim any pieces of wool that are sticking out further than the others to achieve a perfectly symmetrical pom pom and VOILA!

4. To make a garland, repeat the above steps 30 times. Then, connect each pom pom to a long piece of wool.I alternated 3 colors of wool and the brands varied. I used the most inexpensive wool I could find for this project. It won't be worn, so the wool doesn't need to be soft it just needs to be cute!If I made another, I would consider using hot glue to really secure each pom pom tightly together. But, I haven't tried this, so it might not work.
